2023 PORCH HOST INFORMATION & REGISTRATION

Deadline: October 15th
Notified By: November 1st

Our porch host neighbors are not only the foundation for Brunswick PorchFest, but they are our pride and joy as they showcase our community’s hospitality at its best!  Hosting is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and transform your porch and yard into a music venue for an afternoon.

The Process:

  • Make sure you are available after 12 noon on Sunday, November 12th, 2023.
  • Read our information and requirements and fill out the porch host application below by October 15th.  You will know we’ve received your application if you get a response from us by email within 24 hours.
  • If your porch is selected this year, we will contact you no later than November 1st with more details.

Porch Host Information:

  • Check our map and make sure you live within the festival boundaries.
  • Any porch, driveway, or outdoor space will work (keep in mind that the festival goes on rain or shine). You must have an electrical outlet that musicians can use.
  • If you already have a performer that has agreed to play on your porch, note that in the application below.
  • We will select porches based on event flow.  The more porches we have signed up in an area, the more likely they will be included in the event, so get your neighbors signed up, too!
  • Once you receive a confirmation email from us, you will need to contact your performer immediately to begin planning your PorchFest day together.
  • The week before PorchFest, one of our organizers will place a yard sign with performance information in front of your house.  When the event is over, just leave the sign in your yard and someone will remove it the day after PorchFest.
  • Optional, but fun – decorate your porch!  We had amazing porch decorations last year and it really took the event to the next level.  Porches will be judged the Saturday afternoon before PorchFest 2023 so we can place the awards in the winner’s yards the morning before the event.  We want the audience to know who won!  This year’s theme will be “Porch of Call” as a play on “Port of Call,” so think anything port or boat related.  We will be awarding gift certificates from local restaurants to our winners.  Let us know on the application if you would like to participate in our decorating contest!
  • Get the word out to everyone you know and tell your neighbors to drop on by.

Day of PorchFest Requirements:

  • Put out a trash can and a recycle bin for your guests.
  • Assist your performer with any of their needs so they have a great show.
  • Be available for the duration of your time slot. Help as necessary to ensure appropriate sound level and keep the performance to its assigned time.
  • Maintain general order in and around your yard and remain responsible for whatever occurs on your property.  If you see a problem, solve a problem in your yard or on the street. If it’s too big, call the police.
  • Have fun and thank you!
