NPA Meeting 6 pm, June 20, 2024 at 209 Gloucester St. Ste. 211: Property Tax Discussion

June 20 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Learn how this year’s property appraisals can affect your wallet for years to come.

Historic Brunswick NPA Meeting • Thursday June 20th @ 6pm • 209 Gloucester Street Suite 211 (same block as Schroeder’s Market)

AGENDA:

  • Meeting Called to Order
  • Police/Crime – CPL Terrance Tanner
  • Neighborhood – Ashby Worley – Glynn Environment Coalition
  • All About Your Property Taxes – Ron Glisson Appraiser and Martin McCormack Assessor
  • Scarlett Williams homestead property exemption, city version – Crosby Johnson, Mayor
  • Next Meeting – September 17th
The June meeting will concentrate on property appraisals, assessments, the appeals process, and the possibility of tax relief via the Scarlett Williams exemption at the city level. Some appraisals have increased by 40% since last year for folks in the SoGlo area, resulting in a 26% increase in taxes. We’re concentrating on this because the deadline for appealing your appraisal is on or before July 8th. Appeals must be in writing. “NOTE: Prior to entering the formal appeals process, the Property Appraisal Office urges Property Owners who have any question or concern regarding the valuation of their property to first contact our office. Often times, errors can be corrected, clarification can be made, explanations can be given, and questions can be answered without the Property Owner having to file a written appeal.” https://glynncounty.org/…/15/Summary-of-the-Appeal-Process
